RTG Conflicts Online is the online version of RTG Conflicts. It works in a Web browser. RTG Conflicts Online is included with every subscription to RTG Bills Online.
You can convert the data in RTG Conflicts on a Windows PC to RTG Conflicts Online. After the conversion you will no longer need the PC version.
Conversion requires four steps:
The program offered here is only designed to work with RTG Conflicts Version 1.07 and above. If you have a lower-numbered version, you must upgrade to V1.07. See Upgrading RTG Conflicts.
The conversion software will convert clients and other parties, matters, codes, and relationships. It will not convert searches or intake projects.
To do the conversion, you must be a Supervisor in RTG Conflicts Online. Sign in to RTG Conflicts Online (or RTG Bills Online) and go to the Supervisor Menu. From the Supervisor Menu, choose Edit Users.
Click on a user name. At the Edit a User page, check the box, Enable RTG Conflicts. Click Save.
Sign out. Make sure you sign out. It is not sufficient to close the browser or the browser tab. You must click a button or a link that says Sign Out.
The conversion software is installed as an update.
Start RTG Conflicts and choose File > Tools. You will see the Tools window. Look for the line that says Convert to RTG Conflicts Online and double-click that line to start the conversion software.
You will see the Convert to RTG Conflicts Online window. Click the Convert button. After a pause while the data is converted, a message says the conversion is complete. Click OK.
In order to upload data to RTG Conflicts Online:
Warning: The RTG Conflicts data you upload will replace everything in RTG Conflicts Online. Any data already in RTG Conflicts Online will be gone forever.
Before you proceed, make sure you sign out of RTG Conflicts Online and RTG Bills Online. It is not sufficient to close the browser or the browser tab. You must click a button or a link that says Sign Out.
Choose File > Tools. You will see the Tools window. Look for the line that says Upload Converted RTG Conflicts Data and double-click that line to start the conversion software.
At the Upload Converted RTG Conflicts Data window, click the Settings button. Enter your User Name and Password for RTG Conflicts Online (or RTG Bills Online - they are the same). Be sure to enter the User Name and Password for RTG Conflicts Online (or RTG Bills Online), not your User Name and Password for the PC version of RTG Conflicts.
Set the Server number to 3. Click Close.
You will see the Upload Converted RTG Conflicts Data window again. Click Upload to copy your RTG Conflicts data from the PC to RTG Conflicts Online. This may take some time, depending on the size of your database and the speed of your Internet connection. If all is well, a message will appear that says the data was successfully uploaded. Click OK.
At this point, the converted data from RTG Conflicts on the PC is in a file on the RTG Conflicts Online server. It has not yet been read into the RTG Conflicts Online database.
Start your Web browser and sign in to RTG Conflicts Online. Go to the Supervisor Menu.
On the Supervisor Menu, click the menu item, Import PC Data under the Actions heading.
You will see the Import PC Data page. As you will see there, you must get a security code from RTG in order to proceed. Send a message to RTG requesting the code.
We will only send the security code to the email address of a Supervisor in RTG Online. Make sure that the email address you enter with your request is the email address of a Supervisor. You can edit the email address of an RTG Conflicts Online user by choosing Edit Users from the Supervisor Menu of RTG Conflicts Online.
The security code is only good for a single day. You may wish to plan ahead and ask for the code to be valid for a specific day, one or two days in the future.
Once you have the security code, enter it on the Import PC Data page. Click Begin.
After a pause, you should see the Data Load Results page. This step is only successful if no errors are reported. If errors occur here, you must fix the errors in the PC data and start again.
Click Menu to return to the Supervisor Menu.
From the Supervisor Menu of RTG Conflicts Online, choose Edit Users.
Click on the user name of a user who will use RTG Conflicts Online. At the Edit a User page, check the box, Enable RTG Conflicts. Click Save
Repeat this process for every user that will need access to RTG Conflicts Online.
Questions about this conversion procedure should be sent to RTG.
