RTG Bills Makes Billing EasierSanta Monica, California; March 30, 2007 -- RTG has announced a major new release of RTG Bills, its time and billing software for law firms. RTG Bills features compatibility with Windows Vista, including improved context-sensitive help and an easy-to-use table of contents. A new Client Payment Wizard distributes a single payment among all of the client's matters that have a balance due. Multi-user operation has been improved to reduce conflicts when some users are editing fees while other users are printing or canceling bills. Another new feature is the ability to write down a single fee item and show that change as a discount on the bill. RTG Reports, a free upgrade to RTG Bills which provides advanced reports, includes several new reports. Realization reports analyze billing and collections by billing attorney. One realization report compares actual billed amounts to what would have been billed using benchmark billing rates. Another realization report compares the amounts billed to the amounts collected. The Matter Check report, another new report in RTG Reports, searches matters for missing or invalid information. For example, it will find matters with no billing attorney assigned. It also finds matters that have a positive fee balance and a negative expense balance, for example, which may indicate that a payment was applied incorrectly. RTG Bills and RTG Timer cost $95, which includes one license for RTG Timer. RTG's Web site offers free upgrades from the previous release. RTG Bills is designed for law firms and sole practitioners. It combines the ease-of-use of Windows with the power and reliability of a relational database. RTG Timer, included with RTG Bills, uses a computerized "stopwatch" so that attorneys can time their work as they perform it. RTG Timer can communicate with RTG Bills over a network, or it can be used independently on a notebook computer or a home PC. Related products include RTG Timer HE for fee and expense entry on a Palm OS device, RTG Timer ME for fee and expense entry on a Windows Mobile or Pocket PC device, RTG E-Bills for the creation of electronic bills, and RTG Scripts for automating tasks in RTG Bills.
