Introduction

Updates are minor changes to RTG Bills that fix problems, install enhancements, or provide special features. There is no charge for updates.

Usually, RTG Update can download and install updates directly from the RTG server. In some situations, RTG Update is unable to download an update. This page offers an alternative way to get the update.

Each update is in a file. You can download the file from this page. Then you will need to use RTG Update to install the update in RTG Bills.

Each update is in a file with a name like rupgNNN.zip, where NNN is replaced by a number between 100 and 999. Click the button to download the file whose number you chose above.

Your browser may offer you a choice of what to do. You must Save the file. Do not "Open" or "Run" the file.

You may be able to choose where to save it, or it may go into the Downloads folder automatically. If given a choice, save it on the Desktop so it is easy to find.
The file will be copied across the Internet to your computer (that's what "download" means).
When the download is complete, you must find the file, rupgNNN.zip, either on the Desktop or in the Downloads folder. It may appear as rupgNNN, without the .zip extension.

If you are having trouble finding the file, type Ctrl-J (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) to display a list of downloads.

Install the update

Right-click the RTG Bills icon and choose Run as administrator.
If the security system is on, you must sign in as Supervisor. Only the Supervisor can install updates.
Choose File > Update from the menu.
Click Yes to start RTG Update, which installs updates.
Click Update From A Local File.
Select the file you downloaded and click Open.
Click Yes to install this update.
A message should say that the update was successful. Click OK.
Click Close to exit from RTG Update.
