RTG Updates Name And Address Software

Santa Monica, California, May 17, 1999 - RTG has announced the release of Version 1.05 of RTG Names, a name and address program for Windows. The new release adds an e-mail address to the information stored for each name. It also features a more modern look and feel, plus a more flexible import facility.

RTG Names stores names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses. A few keystrokes or mouse clicks can locate any name. RTG Names can copy the selected name and address to the Windows clipboard with a single mouse click, or it can paste the name and address directly into a program such as WordPerfect. A new Copy E-Mail Address button copies just the e-mail address to the Windows clipboard so it can be pasted into an e-mail message.

RTG Names can import names and addresses from other software. It can read a file in comma-delimited format (also called "comma-separated values" or CSV), which most address books and contact managers can write. It can also read a format, which RTG calls the "tagged format," that was designed for compatibility with programs which have a built-in report writer.

Unlike complex contact databases or personal information managers, RTG Names is a simple, fast program designed to run all the time without slowing down your computer. It uses a relational database so the program can handle large lists of names efficiently.

RTG Names provides tight integration with RTG Bills, RTG's time and billing software for Windows. A synchronize feature updates the information in RTG Names by reading the firm's client list directly from RTG Bills. RTG Names can also store names and addresses of people who are not clients. It leaves these unchanged when you synchronize.

RTG Names is available at no charge on RTG's World Wide Web site at http://www.rtgsoftware.com or by mail for $15. RTG Names is compatible with Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows 3.1.

RTG also offers a free working demo of RTG Bills and RTG Timer on its Web site so that potential buyers can evaluate the programs before they purchase them. RTG Bills is a time and billing program for Windows. RTG Timer, an add-on to RTG Bills, is a computerized "stopwatch" that times work as it is performed by the attorney.

RTG Bills costs $50 and handles up to twenty timekeepers. Included with RTG Bills at no extra cost is a single-user license for RTG Timer. Licenses for additional timekeepers to use RTG Timer are $10 each. RTG Bills and RTG Timer are compatible with Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows 3.1.
