RTG Updates Small-Firm Billing Software

Santa Monica, California, June 29, 1998 - RTG has announced a new release of RTG Bills, a low-cost time and billing program for Windows. RTG Bills is designed for small law firms and sole practitioners. It combines the ease-of-use of Windows with the power and reliability of a relational database.

"The latest version of our time and billing software makes retainer billing easy," said Robert Hallem, president of RTG. "You can set a minimum retainer amount for each matter and the bills will request additional retainer payments as they are needed. Retainers are automatically applied to fees and expenses. When a payment is received from the client, RTG Bills can determine how much is needed to pay off any existing fees and expenses, and then it can treat the rest as a retainer. We've also added new reports, including a Retainer Ledger and a Retainer Summary."

"RTG Bills was already known for its ease of use," Hallem added. "This new release provides additional ease-of-use features, including buttons for the most common operations, tabbed dialogs for setup information, and a Smart Enter Key for faster fee and expense entry."

As with previous releases, this version of RTG Bills is compatible with any network which supports Windows PCs. RTG Timer, included with RTG Bills, uses a computerized "stopwatch" so that attorneys can time their work as they perform it. Fees and expenses entered into RTG Timer are easily transferred to RTG Bills for billing. RTG Timer can communicate with RTG Bills over a network, or it can be used independently on a notebook computer or a home PC.

Existing RTG Bills users can obtain the upgrade to the new version at no charge on RTG's World Wide Web site at www.rtgsoftware.com or by mail for $15. New users can purchase the program for $50, which includes one license for RTG Timer. RTG Bills is compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 3.x. RTG offers free demonstration versions of RTG Bills and RTG Timer on its Web site so that potential buyers can evaluate the programs before they purchase them.
