RTG Enhances Time and Billing Software

Santa Monica, California; April 30, 2001 -- RTG has announced a new release of RTG Bills, its low-cost time and billing program for Windows. Version 2.04 includes an improved backup capability, several new reports, and better compatibility with regional currency formats that differ from the standard U.S. format.

"We have enhanced the backup feature in several ways," according to Robert Hallem, president of RTG. "First, a backup can extend onto several floppy disks, so firms with no other backup device can still do a complete backup from within RTG Bills. Second, RTG Bills now compresses the data using the 'zip' compression method, which saves both space and time."

"We've also added RTG Restore, a software wizard that guides you through the process of restoring data from a backup," Hallem added. "Whether you are restoring data after a hard disk crash, or just moving to a new computer, RTG Restore makes it easy to recover the data that you've backed up."

RTG Timer has the same new backup and restore capabilities as RTG Bills. RTG Timer is a time and expense entry program that works with RTG Bills, either on a network or as a remote data entry application. A single-user license for RTG Timer is included with the purchase of RTG Bills.

RTG Bills is designed for small law firms and sole practitioners. It combines the ease-of-use of Windows with the power and reliability of a relational database. RTG Timer, included with RTG Bills, uses a computerized "stopwatch" so that attorneys can time their work as they perform it. RTG Timer can communicate with RTG Bills over a network, or it can be used independently on a notebook computer or a home PC.

RTG Bills and RTG Timer Version 2.04 cost $75, which includes one license for RTG Timer. RTG's Web site offers free upgrades from previous releases of Version 2.

Related products include RTG Timer HE, for fee and expense entry on a Palm organizer, and RTG E-Bills, for the creation of electronic bills.

RTG Bills and RTG Timer are compatible with Windows Me, Windows 98, and Windows 95, and with any network which supports Windows PCs.
