R080201: Taskbar Corruption in Vista with RTG Timer

When RTG Timer is used with Windows Vista, after working for some time the Windows taskbar may become corrupted.

This appears to be caused by a bug in Vista itself, not in RTG Timer. RTG Timer may be triggering the bug because, when the stopwatch is running, it constantly updates the elapsed time in the window title, and that updates the taskbar as well. Most applications don't update the taskbar.

Microsoft has created an update that will fix the bug in Windows Vista. You can find it here:

After the fix is installed, be sure to turn off your computer and then turn it on again. The instructions may not say to do that, but it is important to do it just to be absolutely certain that you are no longer using the old software component that has the bug.
