You can use Microsoft Word 2003 (Word for short) to print the client names and addresses from RTG Bills on labels.
The first step, exporting the client information from RTG Bills, was described here. The second step, adding field names to the file, was described here.
Now we are ready to produce mailing labels. Start Word. From the Word menu, choose:
Tools > Letters and Mailings > Mail Merge
You will see the Mail Merge window next to your document. Word will lead you through these six steps:
- Under Select document type, select Labels. Click Next.
- Select Change Document Layout. Click Label options. You will see the Label Options window. Choose the type of labels you wish to print, for example:
Label products: Avery standard
Product number: 5160 - Address
Then click OK to exit this window. Click Next.
- Select Use an existing list. Click Browse and select the file you created earlier, either address.txt or mail.txt. In the Mail Merge Recipients window, click Select All (assuming you want to print all of the names and addresses). Click OK to exit this window. Click Next.
- Make sure the cursor is on the left edge of the first label. Click Address block. You will see the Insert Address Block window. Uncheck Insert company name. Click OK to exit this window. Click Update all labels. Click Next.
- You should now see a preview of the labels. Assuming it looks correct, click Next.
- Click Print to print the labels.
