December 1999

Version 1.22 of RTG Bills and RTG Timer is now available. You can read about it in RTG News.

The new version of RTG Bills requires Version 1.06 of RTG Reports. It is available here.

The new version of RTG Bills requires a new version of the Timeslips conversion program. Using the old conversion program on the new RTG Bills will cause problems in the database. To prevent such problems in the future, the new conversion program checks the database to be sure it is the correct version before it imports the clients and creates matters.

Do you use Microsoft Outlook? Outlook can import the client list from RTG Bills. Here are the detailed instructions.

October 1999

We've made a few changes to the Support page. It now includes links to several discussion topics: Network Installation, Safeguarding Your Data, Printing Client Addresses, Converting From Timeslips, and Using LAYOUT To Format Bills.

Also new on the Support page is a link to our Customer Contact form so you can tell us if your e-mail address or fax number changes. All RTG Bills customers should keep this information up-to-date, so we can contact you when a new version is available, or in the event that we find a serious problem in the program.

We've added a Press Room where you can find RTG news releases and product photos. Be sure to take a look at the RTG Bills (virtual) product box!

A new version of RTG Reports, Version 1.05, is available. It enhances the Summary of Fees Billed and Collected by adding totals which show the fees billed, collected, and written off for each attorney during any specified period of time. Click here to download.

Thinking about converting from Timeslips to RTG Bills? Or do you know someone who would like to make the change?

We now have detailed instructions and a conversion program you can download. Your client names and addresses, and the balance due, will be transferred to RTG Bills without re-entering anything. Click here for instructions.

Version 1.05 of RTG Names is available for download. You can now store an e-mail address for your clients, and we've added a button to copy the e-mail address to the clipboard, so you can easily paste it into an e-mail message. This version of RTG Names imports more formats, including comma-delimited files in a format which you can define. Best of all, you can still download RTG Names for free.

Version 1.21 of RTG Bills and RTG Timer is now available. There are several new features, including a security system, late payment fees, and Client Billing Summaries.

RTG Reports now includes a new report: Matter Aging by Client. This is similar to the Matter Aging report in RTG Bills, except it prints in alphabetical order by client instead of matter number order. RTG Reports is a free add-on to RTG Bills. Click here for details.

Version 1.20 of RTG Bills and RTG Timer is now available. The primary purpose of this new version is to fix a problem with retainers that was unintentionally introduced in the previous version. There are also some minor enhancements.

July 1998

We have simplified the instructions for downloading the RTG Bills and RTG Timer demo by putting everything on one page.

We have tested RTG Bills and RTG Timer with Windows 98 and they work just fine. Our July newsletter discusses some of the new Windows 98 features. We describe our experience converting to the more efficient FAT32 file system.

June 1998

The upgrade from Version 1.18 to Version 1.19 of RTG Bills is now available. There are so many enhancements that we created a page just to list the changes.

RTG Bills and RTG Timer now have tutorials, which will lead you through the programs one keystroke (or mouse click) at a time. Your Web browser is used to view (or print) each tutorial.

Our May newsletter was a bit late, but it is available now. We discuss problems with the Windows 95 registry.

February 1998

The upgrade from Version 1.17 to Version 1.18 of RTG Bills is now available.

A new program, RTG Reports, provides additional reports for RTG Bills. The first such report shows the fees collected (not just billed) by each timekeeper who has worked on a matter. Details and a sample report are here.

We have a new summary of the key reasons to buy RTG Bills.

The RTG Bills FAQ now includes an explanation of how to set up "per page" charges for fax and photocopies.

The upgrade from Version 1.15 to Version 1.17 of RTG Bills is now available.

Try the latest version of RTG Names, Version 1.04. It can copy name, address, and phone number changes from RTG Bills with the new synchronize feature. You no longer have to export the client list from RTG Bills and import it into RTG Names.

RTG Bills Version 1.13 allows more than one person on a network to use RTG Bills at the same time to edit fees and expenses or to add clients and matters. There is no extra cost for this "multi-user" feature.
