Q: When I start RTG Bills or RTG Timer, I get an error message that says Run-time error '484' followed by Problem getting printer information from the system. Make sure the printer is set up correctly.
A: When RTG Bills or RTG Timer starts up, it asks Windows for the name of the default printer for the computer. If Windows cannot supply that information, this error results and the program exits.
Starting with V2.23, you will see an error message but the program will not exit.
You must use the Windows Control Panel to set the default printer for your computer to a valid printer. You don't actually need a printer connected to the computer, but you do need a printer driver installed that will provide the printer name when Windows requests it.
