  R080701: Send a File to RTG
Problem

Sometimes RTG may request that you send us a file to determine the cause of a problem on your system.

E-mail systems have been known to reject certain files, and even to change the contents of some files. For that reason, we have a special program that will upload files to the RTG server.

Normally, this special program is downloaded and installed by RTG Upgrade. Instructions are here:

However, if you are unable to start RTG Bills, that method won't work. These instructions provide an alternative method for installing the program that sends files to RTG.

Note:
This program only works with RTG Bills V2.20 and above.
Solution

The first step is to download the program that sends files to RTG. Click the link below:

Download 'Send a File to RTG'

Save this file, sendfile.exe, on your Desktop. The icon looks like a mailbox on a post. Double-click the icon to start it.

RTG Support must give you the following information:

  • The file type
  • The file name
  • Your user number
  • Your PIN

Skip the first two steps, which explain how to start sendfile.exe from within RTG Bills. Begin at the step that says, "Choose a File Type from the dropdown list."

Remember to send a message to RTG so we know that you have sent us a file. We do not get notified automatically, so we won't know to look for the file until you tell us that you have sent it.
