  R040103: Cannot Print Envelopes
Problem

RTG Bills V2.11 introduced the ability to print envelopes for a client. This requires a new system file, vbprndlg.dll, on each PC that will run RTG Bills. If this file is not installed and registered on the PC, you will get an error message, ActiveX component can't create object.

When you install RTG Bills V2.11 or later on a PC, or when you upgrade to V2.11 on a PC, the required system file is installed and registered. However, if you are using RTG Bills from any other PC, the file won't be on that PC and the error will occur.

Solution

If you have the RTG Bills installation file (downloaded or on a CD), you should run the installation program on the PC that gives the error message. Be sure to specify the destination location as the network location where RTG Bills is installed. This is the standard procedure for installing RTG Bills on additional PCs, as described in the network installation instructions.

However, if you upgraded RTG Bills using the free upgrades on the RTG Web site, you won't have an installation file for RTG Bills V2.11. For a limited time, we offered a special installation file to install and register the new system file. However, that file is no longer available.

As an alternative, you can buy the RTG Bills Upgrade (which is the complete installation program for RTG Bills) and run the RTG Bills installation program on each PC. It will install all necessary system files.
